World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. They also boost extra bonuses, such as damage from PvE and crit chance.
If the template for upgrading a weapon is in %, the weapon will increase 3% of its previous attack damage every time it is upgraded.
The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the current level of the item. The cost rises with item's level.
Components
Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, weapons and armor in order to provide them with a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. They can be obtained through making crafts, buying from vendors, trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be used on equipment with a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to blue before a component can be used. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a particular kind of upgrade component that is that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment and some of the non-ascended back items. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it's used on (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of the equipment with the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than is required to achieve the same level of upgrade using normal methods.
A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defence attributes of a weapon, or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be crafted at the Portative Forging Station. They can also be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear, or by purchasing them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals.
The player can have a maximum of five boost upgrades at a time. Each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-level version of the item will appear at the time of the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their gear even if they are unsure what will be improved following the reset.
Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process could be costly, and there is a substantial risk that the item may be obsolete or even break if it fails; a failure to upgrade can destroy Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items that can increase or even eliminate the possibility of failure, and some upgrades that provide a bonus when reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade components which can be put in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, which includes any existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded in many ways, and we recommend upgrading them to 15 levels as soon as you can.
In the final game you'll often discover that the most effective way to upgrade your gear is to place Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and provide a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes faster.
Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced, however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt using a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
Each Glyph has a certain range of values can enhance a stat by, and the value is displayed when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.
There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools as well as through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
Once you have the desired Glyphs then you have to attach them to your equipment. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that boosts the stats of a particular set of nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.
Glyphs boost all nodes connected to them, which is why it is recommended to place Glyphs in strategic spots on the Graph. This will increase the impact. Druids, for instance, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may also want to consider placing them near their most critical damage nodes.
Leveling
The system of upgrading items allows players to improve the performance of certain items by placing upgraded components in them. This is also known as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned a level that determines the final stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded until they reach a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each level of an item requires various components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.
Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or bought from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to level the item. Once enough are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When the player upgrade the equipment they have it is replaced by a new item. This means that the same armor piece will get the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item will also have a unique bonus. This could be a drawback, as the item can become more expensive even if you don't need it.
If the player has enough tokens they can roll the upgrade of their item. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a new one, which will come with the level 1 base, and a completely different set of bonuses. This can be useful however it shouldn't be done often as it could waste resources.
Certain upgrades can boost their value and allow players to personalize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants a buff if the player continuously enters or exits the water. This item can be upgraded multiple times by increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is very useful in PvP. A perfectly rolled version could be worth up to 50x the value of a unupgraded counterpart.
Requirements
The item upgrader allows players to raise the level of their equipment (armor, weapons trinkets, and armor) beyond ilvl385 by handing over the appropriate currency to the NPC. The upgrade of armor set pieces will also increase the defense base of that piece, while upgrading weapons will increase the base damage and the strength and dexterity required to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.
Each item can be upgraded a maximum of five times, except for hero gear, which can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade an item, it has an opportunity to fail. The failure rate increases the farther you go beyond the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures will cause the item to return to its original state and the player having to purchase more resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.
If an item is not able to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition, the item will lose any bonus it earned, including crit chance and attack damage, and all other effects that are associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or the speed of reloading). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.
When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that if a weapon increases its crit chance it will be applied before any damage to attack increases. Slots is a brand-new attribute that was added to the definitions of items. The value is recalculated each time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is determined by its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The upgrade cost for non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a standard equipment item could have five upgrades, each costing 25600 Technology Points, 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items have a lower cost per upgrade.
item upgrading have different requirements for upgrading than standard gear--for instance, they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. However, players will have to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each equipment upgrade will require a different amount of the upgrade ingredients.
